Kristin Hannesdottir

I was born and raised in Iceland, where I earned a double Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics and Accounting. With degree in hand, I launched my career in the banking industry, working my way up the corporate ladder until I was recruited and became CFO for the Central Bank of Iceland (all before my 30th birthday). As CFO, I served on multiple international committees, was one of the youngest women to chair the Swift user group in Iceland, and traveled frequently to locations around the globe.

Then at 35 I was in a horrible car accident that forced me to reevaluate my priorities. During the healing process, I came to the realization that my life revolved around my career so much that my family had become accustomed to functioning without me; I felt like a stranger in my own home. For the sake of my health, my husband and I decided we wanted to make a major move to a location with a more desirable climate (Iceland is quite cold, as you can imagine). Once we settled in sunny Southern California, I began looking for my next career, only this time I was determined to be present in my family’s life.

For months I searched, struggling greatly to find something that was in line with both my educational and professional backgrounds, but that could also provide the flexibility I desired. I was actively working to expand my network when I met one of the managing partners of Six Figure Profession, Jennifer Becker, whose business acumen and professionalism impressed me. After checking out the SFP website and reading the bios of some of the people working with the company, I was intrigued. My husband and I met with Founder, Heidi Bartolotta, to learn more. Following the meeting, we agreed that partnering with SFP seemed like the perfect fit for me to leverage my expertise in business and earn a significant income, while still allowing me to have the flexibility to enjoy all that Southern California has to offer, with my family!
